On Monday, May 1 the medical examiner's office ruled that the stabbing on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, of Gregory Williams, age 68, of Bridgeport which left him in critical condition a homicide, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Brigeport Police.
During the incident, Bridgeport Police responded to a stabbing/assault at 308 Iranistan Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located a Williams sitting on the front steps of the residence suffering from a wound to his chest.
He was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition. He died two years later on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022.
On Monday, the medical examiner's office ruled William's cause of death to be respiratory complications due to a remote stab wound of the torso, Gilleran said. The manner of death of his death was ruled a homicide.
"The Police Department’s deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Williams," Gilleran said.

Police did not offer an explanation for the nearly two-year time gap between the stabbing and his death being ruled a homicide.
